The Israeli military announced today that it is launching "large-scale operations" against Palestinian armed groups in the northern occupied West Bank.
Israeli "forces began operating tonight as part of a large-scale counter-terrorism operation in the northern region of Samaria," the army said in a statement, which uses the biblical name for the northern West Bank.
The Israeli military indicated that it was not a deployment as part of a "counter-terrorism operation" launched in January 2025 and targeting Palestinian refugee camps in the region, but a "new operation," according to Agence France-Presse.
Israeli forces "will not allow terrorism to take root there," the army added.
Violence has not stopped in the West Bank since the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effect on October 10th.
