US President Donald Trump has criticized his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky for not "reading" the proposal for peace in Ukraine presented by Washington three weeks ago, which is the subject of separate talks with Moscow and Kiev.
"We've spoken to (Russian) President Vladimir Putin, we've spoken to Ukrainian leaders - including Zelensky, President Zelensky - and I have to say I'm a little disappointed that President Zelensky hasn't read the American proposal yet" for a solution in Ukraine, the US president said late last night, speaking to reporters at a ceremony in Washington.
"That (plan) suits Russia, I think Russia would prefer to have the whole country, but I'm not sure that suits Zelensky," Trump added.
Since the US plan was presented almost three weeks ago, several rounds of talks have been held with Ukrainians in Geneva and the US state of Florida in an attempt to change the text in Kiev's favor.
The document was also presented to Putin on Tuesday during a visit to Moscow by US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the US president's son-in-law and informal mediator.
Few details have emerged about the revised plan, after Kiev and the Europeans saw the initial version as largely favorable to Russia.
