A Palestinian attacker drove his car into a man and stabbed a woman in northern Israel today, killing both, Israeli emergency services said, Reuters reported.
The attacker, from the occupied West Bank, was wounded when he was shot by a civilian at the scene and was taken to hospital, Israeli police said in a statement.
"This was a terrorist attack in motion," police added.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said he had ordered the military to respond forcefully in the West Bank town of Qabatia, where he said the attacker was from, to prevent further attacks.
The Israeli military said it was "preparing for an operation" in the area.
The Israeli emergency services said a teenager was also injured in the attack, and that a man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene after doctors were unable to resuscitate them.
