Iranian President Masoud Pazakhstani has said that his country is in a full-scale war with the United States, Europe and Israel, and that the conflict is worse than the one with Iraq in the 1980s.
"We are in a war of enormous proportions with the US, Israel and Europe, because they do not want our country to remain stable," said an interview published on the website of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Pezeshkian added that the West's war against Iran is "more complicated and difficult" compared to the war with Iraq from 1980 to 1988, in which more than a million people died on both sides.
His statements come ahead of a planned meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, who are scheduled to discuss Iran on Monday.
