A train crash in southern Mexico has killed 13 people and injured dozens, Mexican officials say.
A train connecting the states of Oaxaca and Veracruz derailed on Sunday near the town of Nisando.
"The Mexican Navy informed me that 13 people died in the Interoceanic Train accident," Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on the X network, adding that 98 people were injured, five of them seriously.
She added that she had ordered people from the navy and police to travel to the scene and personally assist the families.
Officials said there were 241 passengers and nine railway workers on the train at the time of the accident.
