Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a document on bilateral security guarantees between Kyiv and Washington is "essentially ready" to be finalized with United States President Donald Trump.
Zelensky said that negotiator Rustem Umerov had briefed him on the results of yesterday's negotiations in France.
"It is important that Ukraine successfully unites the efforts of European and American teams, and together we discussed, among other things, documents related to reconstruction and economic development. Complex issues from the basic framework for ending the war were also considered, and the Ukrainian side presented possible options for finalizing this document. We understand that the American side will contact Russia and we expect feedback on whether the aggressor is really ready to end the war," Zelensky wrote on X.
He said that the Russian strikes do not indicate that Moscow is reconsidering its priorities.
"In this context, it is necessary for the pressure on Russia to continue to grow with the same intensity as the work of our negotiating teams. The feasibility of future security guarantees must be proven by the ability of our partners to exert effective pressure on the aggressor at this very stage. We are preparing new relevant contacts with partners," Zelensky said.
