France is opening a consulate in Greenland on Friday, February 6, as planned last year, the country's Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot announced today.
Barrot told RTL radio that the United States (US) must stop blackmailing Greenland and expressing a desire to take control of the autonomous Danish territory, Reuters reports.
"An attack on another NATO member would make no sense, it would also be contrary to US interests, and therefore this blackmail must stop," Baro added.
