The Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for an attack on a restaurant in Afghanistan, which killed seven people.
The Islamic State group said through its Amaq news agency that a suicide bomber entered the restaurant and detonated a bomb, adding that 25 people, including Taliban guards, were either killed or wounded.
Afghan authorities have not officially confirmed the cause of the explosion, and the Ministry of Interior said an investigation is underway.
A Chinese citizen was also killed in the attack, and IS threatened China in a statement, saying the attack was carried out because Beijing mistreats Uyghurs, a national minority in China whose members are members of the Islamic faith.
