Six people are missing in a landslide at a campsite on New Zealand's North Island, authorities there said today.
Heavy rains triggered a landslide on Mount Maunganui on the island's east coast on Thursday, sending debris and debris crashing onto a popular campsite in the city of Tauranga where families were spending their summer holidays, Reuters reported on its website.
New Zealand officials have not reported any deaths.
Police said the scale of the disaster and the risks at the scene could delay rescue operations.
Two people died in a landslide in the nearby suburb of Papamoa on Thursday, police added.
