A fire at a hotel in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore killed at least three people and injured at least eight others today, rescue officials said.
The hotel was evacuated and the fire has since been extinguished, the Punjab Emergency Management Agency said.
Firefighters are investigating whether a gas leak was the cause, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif wrote on X that she was personally monitoring the situation after the incident in the city's Gulberg neighborhood.
A major fire broke out in a shopping mall in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi last Sunday, killing 71 people.
