United States President Donald Trump said he believes an agreement to end the war between Russia and Ukraine is close.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump, according to Reuters, said he believed the parties were "getting very close" to an agreement, without providing further details.
Trump also said that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine could take place without the participation of his son-in-law Jared Kushner and US special envoy Steve Witkoff.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, earlier today, said that Russia had agreed to refrain from attacking Ukraine until February 1 in accordance with Trump's request.
