The Palestinian presidency has condemned the Israeli government's decision to register land in the occupied Palestinian West Bank as "state property."
They said that this act represents an additional serious escalation and a flagrant violation of international law.
This measure, they say, represents a de facto annexation of occupied Palestinian territory through illegal settlement expansion.
"This step effectively nullifies the signed agreements and clearly violates United Nations Security Council resolutions, in particular Resolution 2334, which affirms that all Israeli settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, have no legal validity and constitute a violation of international law. These unilateral measures are null and void and will not grant Israel, the occupying power, any legitimacy over the territory of the State of Palestine in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip," reads a statement released to the media by the Embassy of Palestine in Montenegro.
They called on the international community - primarily the UN Security Council and the United States administration - to intervene immediately to stop "dangerous Israeli actions" and force Israel to comply with international law and resolutions on international legitimacy.
