Iran has extended sanctions against nine more companies, organizations and individuals linked to the US, in retaliation for new US sanctions imposed on Iran over its ballistic missile program.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published today on its website a new list of punished individuals and companies, expanded by nine names.
Under the sanctions, Iran can seize local assets of affected companies and ban their employees from staying in or entering the country.
In February, US President Donald Trump's administration imposed sanctions on more than two dozen individuals and companies linked to Iran over Tehran's ballistic missile test. Iran responded in March and announced similar US sanctions.
Three days ago, the USA introduced new sanctions against seven more companies related to Iran's ballistic program, which they announced at the same time as they extended the decision to lift the harsh sanctions on Tehran agreed after the conclusion of the 2015 nuclear deal.
