- A fire that broke out yesterday in a shopping mall near the Iranian capital Tehran killed eight people and injured 40, Tehran's emergency services reported today.
A fire broke out yesterday at the Arhavan shopping mall in the city of Andisheh, in Tehran province. It is not clear what caused the fire, and state broadcaster IRIB reported that authorities were investigating its cause.
Television footage showed firefighters battling the blaze and tall columns of black smoke rising from the multi-storey building.
There is no indication that the fire is linked to the war with the United States (US), which has been in an unstable ceasefire for about three weeks.
