The United States (US) has not made any concrete concessions in response to Iranian proposals, particularly on the nuclear program, the main point of contention between the two countries, Iranian media reported today.
Washington presented a list of five points that, among other things, demand that Iran maintain only one active nuclear facility and transfer its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to the US, Fars news agency reported.
The US has also refused to release as much as 25 percent of Iranian assets frozen abroad or to pay reparations for the damage Iran suffered during the war.
The Mehr news agency reported that the US did not give Iran any tangible concessions, condemning the excessive conditions imposed by Washington.
Washington also demanded very strict and long-term restrictions on Iran's nuclear program and conditioned the cessation of hostilities on all fronts on the opening of negotiations, Mehr added.
Iranian diplomats said on Monday that Tehran's proposals call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the region, especially in Lebanon, as well as the lifting of the blockade imposed on its ports by the US Navy.
Iran has also demanded the unfreezing of its assets abroad, which have long been subject to US sanctions.
