Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing today for a summit with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, a trip the Kremlin said it expected would strengthen strategic cooperation between the two allies, Reuters reported on its website.
The summit comes just days after a meeting between Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump.
In a video address released ahead of his visit to Beijing, Putin said Russia and China were ready to support each other on a range of issues, including national unity and the protection of sovereignty.
