US President Donald Trump's popularity in the US remains near its lowest point since the beginning of his political career, as a large portion of Americans expect gas prices to rise due to the war with Iran, the British agency Reuters reported today the results of an Ipsos poll.
About 35 percent of respondents said they approve of the US president's actions, the same level as in the previous poll in May.
That score is only slightly higher than the low of 34 percent reached in April, the lowest since Donald Trump returned to the White House in January 2025. During his first term, Donald Trump's popularity fell to 33 percent in December 2017.
The US president appears to be paying the price for his decision to launch a military attack on Iran, along with Israel, in late February, which caused a sharp rise in gasoline prices.
Although prices at the pump in the United States (US) have fallen in recent weeks, 59 percent of those surveyed expect costs to rise in the coming year, compared to 17 percent who predict an improvement, while the rest are undecided.
Only 22 percent of Americans surveyed approve of Donald Trump's efforts to protect household purchasing power, while 70 percent disapprove of his actions, the analysis of the survey results added.
