A shooting in the West Texas city of Midland has left 11 people injured and at least one dead, the city's mayor said. N1 citing CNN.
According to him, the attacker has been confirmed dead.
Officers heard gunfire coming from a building and "responded quickly to secure and search the area," the police chief said in a Facebook post.
Midland Memorial Hospital received nine victims of the incident, a spokeswoman for the health facility told CNN.
"Four are in the operating room and five are in stable condition," she said.
The hospital was closed at around 8:20 a.m. local time this morning due to the incident, but the main building reopened around 10:10 a.m., while officials said the Emergency Department would remain closed until further notice.
"We ask citizens to avoid coming to the hospital unless they need urgent medical services," the spokeswoman said.
Local authorities have not released any information about the suspect or a possible motive for the shooting.
