The final text of a peace agreement between the United States (US) and Iran was agreed upon today, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said.
He stated in a post on the social network X that, due to Pakistan's intensive mediation efforts, they are aware of the ongoing disinformation campaign being waged by those who want to sabotage the peace agreement.
"But leaving that aside, we can confirm that a final, agreed text of the peace agreement has been reached," Sharif said, according to N1.
According to him, Pakistan is working closely with the US and Iran to finalize the next steps.
"Peace has never been closer than now," Sharif said.
Reuters reported earlier today that an agreement between the US and Iran to end the Gulf War could be signed on Sunday, most likely in Geneva.
US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he was suspending new attacks on Iran because a deal had been reached.
"We just made a great deal to end the war with Iran," Trump told reporters at the White House.
An Iranian official told Reuters today that the draft agreement provides for the lifting of sanctions on Iranian oil, the unfreezing of billions of dollars worth of assets, and the cessation of all hostilities on the ground, including in Lebanon.
