The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had struck heavy blows at US bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Oman and other countries and said it would continue such actions, stressing that the Americans were trying to make up for their defeat in the war with attacks.
"The Americans are trying to make up for their defeat in this war through military action and return the Strait of Hormuz to the state it was in before the conflict, but they will certainly not succeed," wrote IRGC commander Jadollah Javani on the Telegram channel.
He also threatened "revenge and retaliation" against those Iran holds responsible for the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Al Jazeera reports.
"These people must say goodbye to a peaceful sleep and a peaceful life," Javani said.
Washington and Tehran renewed their attacks on each other on July 8. US President Donald Trump then said the ceasefire was no longer valid, accusing Iran of attacks on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
On the night of July 12, Iran announced that it was closing the sea passage until the US stopped interfering in Middle Eastern affairs.
Iran also accused the White House of violating the memorandum on the cessation of hostilities.
