Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will pay his first official visit to South Korea in five years on Wednesday and Thursday, August 19th and 20th, the country's Foreign Ministry announced.
The British news agency Reuters reported that he will be received by South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in Seoul, but the topics of the meeting were not specified.
Upon arrival on Wednesday, Wang Yi will meet with his South Korean counterpart Cho Hyun.
The visit is believed to be in preparation for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be held in Shenzhen, China, in November.
