A high-ranking city official in China shot the mayor of Panzhihua and the city's party secretary today, and then killed himself, according to Chinese media.
According to the Xinhua news agency, the suspect Chen Zhongshu (54) was the secretary of the city bureau in Panjihua, a city with 1,2 million inhabitants in the southwest of Sichuan province.
Chinese media report that the motive for the shooting is currently unknown.
