The Banja Luka band Subversija, which plays its version of punk rock music, opened the 13th edition of Lake Fest, the biggest Montenegrin music festival, yesterday, and made a good overture for Željko Bebek, who had a "comeback" concert in Krupa's poplars.
It was the same as in 2019 – Bebek and the audience sang hits together, and after the encore, the performance ended with the hit from 1989, "Good night musicians".
"We, who have created in this area with generations and generations of people who love rock and roll, are honored to have a concert like this happen to us, to see that we did not waste our time and that we may still be the leaders," Bebek said after the concert and praised the organizers. of the festival, who, as he pointed out, made an effort to ensure that both they and the audience enjoyed the concert equally.
"Lake Fest has good emotions and it's really nice to come here," said Bebek, who celebrated five decades of work last year.
He hopes that new musical forces will also build successful careers, and the way to that, he said, is constant learning and practice.
"If they understand that, then they can join, because the more of us, the better the choir, the better the mood, the freedom of mind and freedom of choice manifests much more, music as a reflection of life, love and family as the main goal. Then they will belong to this world , as we belong to and still lead it, and we are waiting for these younger ones to replace us. I have the youngest Bebek in the band who is sure on this path and who will probably come to Montenegro after a while. That is my son Zvone", proudly said Bebek, who has been sharing the stage with his son since 2017, with whom he will release an album together in the spring.
The fact that three generations sang together with him at the concert is, as he pointed out, a special satisfaction for every musician.
"When you are listened to by those who were not born when I started singing, that is the fulfillment of dreams. When you are young, you dream that you will succeed, that for two or three years you will be extremely interesting to the world, that you will get rich, buy a car, a summer house, and when it 'works' for you, after a few years you realize that that's not all, that there are more important things, that you are good at communicating with generations, that you are happy that your dreams have come true and that you are a man in your place," said the first the singer of the White Button.
And while Bebek performed at Lake Fest for the second time, the Croatian rock group "Prljavo kazalište" had a concert in Nikšić for the first time and according to the founder and frontman of the band, Jasenka Houra, the audience and they liked each other from the first ball and found a common language, which is music.
"You work and try to be as good as possible. It gets into your blood. There is nothing worse for a man than when you take away his preoccupation. I realized that during the corona virus when I thought I was going to die in bed," said the guitarist of the band. which was founded in 1977.
The performance in Nikšić is their third this year in Montenegro - previously they had concerts in Kotor and Herceg Novi and they are glad, said Houra, that they were well received everywhere, that the audience sang along with them, because they realized a long time ago that they they have to be good for the audience to be good too.
According to him, musicians like to do summer tours because then they have the opportunity to meet the audience that grew up in discos and that "the world from the last century, which they heard about from series and stories", is interesting. It is also an opportunity for younger generations to hear songs they like, but which they often don't associate with the original artists.
After the Dirty Theater, the stage was occupied by one of the most popular Macedonian bands of the new generation, Funk Shui, known for its unique sound that includes elements of many genres - from indie rock, to rap, to electro.
The first day of the festival, in the early hours of the morning, was closed by the Turkish DJ Murat Uncuoglu.
Marcelo, the tribute band Queen sensation, group from St. Petersburg Splean, Rhythm from Novi Sad and DJ Fedde Le Grand who is coming from the Netherlands will perform tonight.
From this year, the stage is also in the camp
This year, the camp in poplars is free, and the organizers have decided to complete the offer, so a stage has been set up in the camp where three bands will perform every evening, from 16 to 19 p.m.
Yesterday the bands Na brzka, Jelene and Eliza Stark&Deppersi performed, while tonight the stage in the camp will be reserved for Tantrabrothers, Azilante and Devet.
