Only 48 hours before the dissolution of this convocation of parliament, the new state prosecutor was sworn in in that "honorable" house and called on his morals and honor to carry out his duty. The faceless play about a man who is friends with so many criminals has an addition: namely, that Turudić will take office only in two months, when the mandate of the current state prosecutor expires. So Croatia now has two chief prosecutors, one "moral", HDZ's boyfriend, who should prevent the criminal octopus from getting hold of the prime minister himself, and a lady who, so-called "independent" of the executive power, only functions at the prime minister's instigation anyway.

Then just ten hours before the dissolution, the parliament, more precisely the HDZ with its satellites, passed a repressive law that will severely punish whistleblowers, and indirectly the media if they publish data from an investigation or public administration body.

Then the next day, the President of the Republic set the date of the parliamentary elections for April 17, and only 24 hours later, in the manner of the best satire, at the press conference of the SDP, he announced his candidacy for prime minister on that party's list.

And the madness could begin. Is he allowed to do it according to the Constitution? Can't? Or is it still allowed, since the Constitution does not expressly prohibit such a precedent anywhere? Is the president of the state a citizen like any other, so he can run on the electoral list? Why didn't he resign from the position of head of state before that?

What prompted him to step out of the comfort of his office into the angry election arena? And while the HDZ expected an easy victory over the weak opposition, led by the weak SDP, Milanović's maneuver caused panic and surprise, because with him at the helm, there is now a strong possibility of an electoral victory for the Social Democrats and their partners. And the last straw was the election of the new state prosecutor, so Zoran Milanović said that "the levy of certain Turudić was not a drop, but a bucket that overflowed the septic tank of all the impurities that AP and his bullies left behind... Thieves, oppressors and we will expel their helpers... I invite all honest political people to gather, there are differences between us, but I believe that the stronger belief is that we want to work together for the benefit of the country, which is our only one".

Such a Milanović, prone to rabid rhetoric, can indeed bring the opposition an electoral victory, all the more so because a part of the right-wing electorate is also inclined to him, with whose ideology he has unfortunately been flirting for a long time, but what binds him now to his former party - the SDP - is, we believe, the desire to to save Croatia from the greedy, corrupt HDZ hordes. A party that lost power twice, in 2000 and then in 2011, due to the enormous thievery of its then prime minister and party leader. Therefore, strictly pragmatically, it is not a moment for lamentation, because the country simply needs to be saved from a convicted criminal organization, but it is also necessary to prepare for Milanović after the elections, for his right-wing escapades, to remind him of his diplomatic activities, which are absent, apart from his constant meddling in the internal affairs of BiH , its additional destabilization, along with friendship with the notorious head of Republika Srpska, often in the wake of Franja Tuđman's disastrous policy towards Bosnia. Or awarding an order to a convicted war criminal, etc.

However, these are all questions for a normal country, and Croatia is not, and that is why the possible victory of the SDP now seems more important than Milanović's flaws. And then, again 24 hours later, following an urgent procedure, the Constitutional Court - the majority firmly tied to the HDZ - made, not a decision, but a recommendation - such as: don't cross the road at a red light! - with which he disputes Milanović's right to subsequently be SDP's candidate for prime minister, and then the head of the Constitutional Court, Miroslav Šeparović - an old HDZ player - threatened to cancel the election, if he does not completely withdraw from the campaign. He furiously and imperatively, from a political and not a legislative function, ranted about the "violated spirit of the Constitution", forbidding the SDP itself to mention Milanović anywhere in the campaign. With this, that court once again showed its repressive, repressive character, not relying on the letter of the Constitution, which also regulates this kind of situation - since there is none - but tried to abolish a political party, its members and voters with arrogant threats, without a foothold in the law. freedom of speech. And directly, in the best manner of HDZ, obstructed the democratic process. By the way, but no less important, even four members of the Constitutional Court disagreed with that "recommendation", which only testifies that the phrase "spirit of the Constitution" actually means the spirit of the HDZ.

Certainly, it is a bizarre situation that the president of the country is leaving, as he says, "out of his comfort zone", in order to participate in the election rigging that has already begun - Prime Minister Plenković, completely taken aback by the situation, hysterically calls him Putin's player and talks about a coup d'état - but the fact is that this unusual move by the head of state was caused by the prime minister himself, his chancellorship, which contemptuously suppressed all parliamentary and democratic life. And he misjudged that he would easily walk away to victory through the campaign, ignored the potential of the opposition and the anger of the citizens due to the intolerable corruption of the HDZ, which has simply eaten up the state, and he is looking for a stronghold in that part of his electorate that constantly bribes him with common money, of which there is indeed an abundance there is, but not because of production, but because of enormous inflation.

This HDZ is therefore the same one from the 90s, entwined with corruption and the right wing, which cannot be changed by any means, but must go. If the price for that is the controversial, unbridled Zoran Milanović, the victory of the SDP and its partners, then there seems to be no other option.

It is certain that the very panic that the head of state caused in the ranks of the ruling party by announcing the unexpectedly close elections, and then his candidacy, came as a blessing, because that dissolute party does not have time to gather itself, let alone shape a meaningful campaign. Now they have as opponents highly motivated voters of the left and a man with a wicked tongue who tells the citizens: "with me you know what you are in for". Yes, we really know, and that is a reason to worry, but the subsequent one.
