On the occasion of the protest of oncology patients

It is not October but April, the harbinger of spring. What does it look like to whom? Every day, month and year is a struggle for oncology patients. The world will turn even after us because it is a set of circumstances. No one wants serious illnesses, months of chemotherapy, radiation, hopelessness...

There is a spark, a flame to fight and survive after all, and the fight with yourself is the hardest. Side effects are subjective and individual, and cytostatics work independently of them. The time it takes to fully recover depends on many factors, including the general condition of the body. Patients in cooperation with oncologists achieve positive results through joint efforts, but unfortunately many lose their lives. The number of cancer patients is increasing every year. From the very knowledge of the underlying disease, patients should be provided with a program of nutrition, supplementation, and rehabilitation, because the consequences are as follows:

- the effect of cytostatics on the oral cavity, gums, throat, nervous system, veins, muscles, bones, skin, nails, kidneys, liver, brain, bone-joint system,

- in addition to malignant cells, healthy cells also suffer...

Since we are denied the rights to other people's care and help according to the system of discrimination, we ask - why should we seek our right on the street, instead of the competent institutions taking care of us with numbers and markings by category, because everything is found in the registration system?

From the start, you should be humane towards oncology patients when it comes to obtaining the supplement. Why only patients with distant metastases, is it a farewell gift or should it be encouraging and humane?

What about the patients in one house, where there are two of them... What are the rights to exercise sick leave, to ensure existence for yourself and your family?

Should we, like ghosts, surrender to our own story, by inertia... or should we have adequate help?

From personal experience, and two of us are at home with diagnoses: a couple of years ago at the Commission for Care and Assistance of Others, the doctor asked us why we came to him. I answered in Podgorica style: "We didn't have anything today, it's Sunday, so we came to you with the findings according to the invitation and the situation"!

He went through our documents with a ruler to make sure we looked good and that we both got sick from the scourge of the modern age in the space of two years. Since there was a suspicion of relapse, I received someone else's care and help for a year, but my husband did not.

Funny and sad, right? Since then, we submitted another request for the same, we were rejected and then you simply withdraw because the man feels really miserable, as if he is going to beg.

How many demands stand still while someone frantically fights for survival and breath, a breath for another day of life!

After all, we should have a life worthy of a human being, of high quality, receive help, instructions for rehabilitation, nutrition, survival, and not be like a shadow behind all of you in society and community until the last resting place!
