The new guest of the forum "Agora", moderated by the editor of the cultural program at the JU "Zahumlje", Andjela Pekovic are Thursday, April 17, from 19 p.m. in the hall of Zahumlje, Nikšić, there will be psychologist prof. Ph.D Žarko Trebješanin. The topic of the forum is "Modern man in search of meaning: Jung and Frankl".
"Starting from the assumption that modern man lives in an existential vacuum, that he increasingly faces the problems of depression, loneliness and addiction, we will try to answer several important questions concerning the meaning of human life. On that occasion, we will also talk about what a psychologist is Carl Gustav Jung and a psychotherapist Viktor Frankl said about meaning, what logotherapy entails, from whom meaning should be expected, whether there is any general meaning", reads the announcement of the forum.
Trebješanin graduated and received his doctorate from the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. He was employed at the Faculty of Special Education and Rehabilitation (former Faculty of Special Education) in Belgrade from its foundation until his retirement (2018), and taught at the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Teacher Education in Belgrade, while today he teaches at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts in Belgrade , and since 2017 at the Faculty of Applied Sciences in Podgorica.
He participated as an associate and project manager in the scientific and professional projects of the Institute of Psychology. He is the author of a professional education project in psychology for representatives of non-governmental organizations and a lecturer at seminars on personal and collective identity, attitudes, prejudices and stereotypes organized by the OSCE. From 2003 to 2006, he led several projects, and so far he has published ten books and more than a hundred scientific and professional papers. He edited and wrote numerous forewords/afterwords for books.
"The forum 'Agora', in the form of conversation and discussion, under the critical scrutiny of the participants, covers various topics from the world of culture, art, as well as social issues, all in the service of encouraging dialogue, but also the development of public discourse as the basic paradigm of every democratic society. Following the example of ancient Greek squares and Roman forums, the need to create, in a somewhat more modest format, a favorable environment for discussion of all important topics that are in the interest of man", reads the press release.
The event is part of the April repertoire of the Nikšić cultural scene.
