In the past three days, thanks to the "Main Art Street" festival, Podgorica lived in the spirit of European cultural capitals. Sculptures, drawings and paintings by famous Montenegrin authors, multimedia performances, concerts, numerous opportunities for the youngest to express their creativity, are some of the segments of the festival, which for three days, organized by Srđa Stijović, attracted and delighted a large audience from Podgorica.
"Everyone is satisfied", are the words of Stijović, who is one of the initiators and organizers of the "Main Art Festival".
"Thanks to the help of artists Draško Dragaš, Žonij Hodžić, as well as other people related to culture, we pushed the festival to the end. I think we succeeded, and now it's time for the comments. And our city must have a festival like this, which is common for many cities in the surrounding area, in Europe", said Stijović, emphasizing that the festival will grow into a traditional one.
"My idea is to organize a festival in the coming years towards the end of summer, when school starts, when we are all here. We need to bring some culture to our Main Street", concluded Stijović.
Such events are necessary
Painter Draško Dragaš, one of the participants of the festival, is satisfied with the realization of the three-day cultural happening that is happening for the first time in the capital.

"Festivals like this are rare in our country. And now it happened thanks to the organizer Srđa Stijović, who financed the entire program himself. I hope that due to the great interest of the audience in art, in culture in general, naturally through the form of the "Main Art Festival", more understanding, more listening will appear and that its more frequent realization will become possible in an easier way", commented Dragaš, who in addition to presenting his works at the "street festival", he also worked with FLU students from Cetinje.
Bojana Mišić, an artist from Belgrade, who with the performers of DODEST, also conquered the audience of the "Main Art Festival", said that such an event must take on a traditional character, and by no means remain just a random incident.
"I am happy that I was part of a program that is important for a city like Podgorica. Events like this are necessary, and this was demonstrated by numerous visitors of different generations. The festival encompassed different aspects, a little bit of everything, something for everyone.

The story of the festival was enhanced by numerous concerts as well as by the students of the Music School 'Vasa Pavić'. This is a story that should definitely be supported and continued. It must come to life and be traditional, and not remain just as some random incident," said Bojana Mišić, emphasizing that a festival like this one should be recognized, that other cultural institutions in Montenegro should support it organizationally and financially. in the first place, the Ministry of Culture.
