Blizzard revealed that the new Diablo 4 will have over 50 individual accessibility features and that the main goal in making this game was to be as accessible as possible compared to the rest of the series.

Some of Diablo 4's accessibility options were shared on Blizzard's blog, and the post began with lead accessibility designer Drew McCrory stating that "the only limit to an adventure in Sanctuary should be interest, not ability."

One of the role models for making this game was Diablo 2, which revolutionized the amount of freedom players had, but it was done with caution so that the game would not run away from its principles.

Blizzard has mapped the buttons and the keyboard, mouse and controller can be adjusted to what suits the players best. Players can swap their left and right analog thumbsticks on the controllers so they can “control their most important buttons and analog thumb inputs with just one hand.”

Persist Target Lock is another option and will ensure that the enemy you want to target doesn't get lost in the chaos as a ton of enemies can be on screen at the same time. With this lock-on feature, your skills and weapons will target the enemy you intend to take down.

As for the text, a lot of focus has been placed on subtitles to make the story of Diablo 4 easy to digest for everyone.

Vision Assistance was also discussed, with font and cursor resizing being the first highlighted feature. There will be three text options - small, medium and large - and Blizzard has ensured that it will look just as good no matter which size you choose.

Audio cues will help players locate items as they will play a sound when the cursor pops over one or when they get close to another.

Highlighting players and items will help players increase readability and will allow players, enemies, objects and NPCs to be highlighted with a color of their choice. Once again, there's a lot going on in Diablo 4 at any given time, and this will help players make sense of everything that's happening at once.
