Shakira and Roger Waters bought an island together in the Caribbean

Colombian singer and musician Roger Waters bought an island in the Caribbean for $16 million.

Shakira (34) and Waters (68) joined forces and bought the island of Bonds Cay, north of the Bahamas, where they plan to build luxury villas and hotels close to the beach.

The island has five beaches, three bays and several waterfalls, and two musicians plan to make the future luxury resort a haven for artists.

Construction work should start next month, but it is still uncertain when the complex could be opened to visitors.
