When it comes to hip hop culture, Montenegro is experiencing a boom, all thanks to the increasing number of those who choose this genre. There is also a woman among them, and all of them are gathered on the song "ANEMOI", which was released as part of the Vibin Wit DJ Mono project, which is behind DJ and producer Nikola Rajović.

"After last year's great experiences I had with SOULx3000 singles, I decided to start the Viba Wit DJ Mono project as well. Both projects are based on networking and collaboration. Two more songs were recorded in parallel with 'ANEMOI', but it seemed to me that the most important thing was that 'ANEMOI' should go first, which is because of the state in which our society is, the lack of empathy, general aggressiveness, violence and femicide... and because of the emphasis the female voice of the promotion of unity and young new hip-hop forces. On the vocals, in addition to Marija Božović on the chorus, we also have experienced rappers Snežana Nikčević, better known as Apro, and Bojana Petrović, who built her career as Labia, who after a long break gladly answered the call and returned to recording. Besides them, there are also Đulija Perišić or Jutro and Sara Kurgaš aka Kurgashian, young hopefuls who have already started to leave their mark on the urban scene", Rajović enumerates, adding that the Knowhere2Run studio team, behind which are Todor Tadić and Marko, were in charge of the production. Ćacić.

"Besides my smallness, they worked on the music and arrangement. The video was in charge of the Atomic Production studio team from Podgorica headed by Ivan Čojbašić as director of photography," DJ Mono reminded.

The single has been on the air for several days, and not only the interlocutor of Vijesta, but also the rest of the team is satisfied with the song and the video that we released, and that, he claims, is the most important thing in the whole story.

"We didn't do an ultra-commercial thing, but quite hard rap, so we don't even expect attention from the 'masses.' The initial reactions are totally organic and we are very pleased that a lot of people have shared and positively evaluated the song on social networks. We are just starting a promotion that includes all media, so we want to present the single to as many people as possible. What I constantly point out is that the Montenegrin media should give even more space to local creatives, especially the media that are owned by the citizens, because the 'domestic product' must be dominant", Rajović believes.

The title of the song 'ANEMOI' is interesting, and until you listen to it, it is difficult to know what it is about.

"It plays with letters, it can be more interesting and intriguing. Now we see that 'ANEMOI' also has a story from Greek mythology, which more or less complements our story". reveals Rajović.

Women are in the shadow of men when it comes to most jobs, and the female rappers in the song talk about some situations in male-female relationships where they are characterized as the 'gentler sex'. Given all that women have been through for centuries, they can hardly be characterized as such.

“I'm not sure that I, as a man, can give a characteristic without making a mistake. However, I can say that this 'man's world' should be improved with true equality. It seems that everything would be better if more women were among the decision-makers", is sure DJ Mono, who has been collaborating with hip hoppers for years, mostly with the duo Who See. Although this culture has finally come to life in our country, it has not yet become mainstream.

"Due to the limited Montenegrin market, the number of music consumers in our country would suggest that all our music is underground, literally because of the small numbers... When we compare the situation today and 30 years ago, it is definitely better now. However, it should be borne in mind that hip-hop, in the world, has been one of the most listened to genres and a global musical phenomenon since the 90s. I think that in the future the boundaries between genres will be increasingly erased and that the division will be based on mood - sad, happy, fast, slow, energetic, lethargic... So it will be interesting how consumers will accept sounds that they would otherwise ignore." , said Rajović, who is a successful DJ and producer, and explains whether creating a beat for hip hop differs from the one he creates for the matrix for his mix:

"Music is music, it depends on the purpose, of course. For a long time, we have been 'going for the feeling', for the vibe, energy and groove, and these are my basic postulates and starting and ending points", explains Rajović, and reveals whether "ANEMOI" is the beginning of a new chapter for DJ Mon:

"Previously, I would say that it is a continuation, that is, an upgrade of what I have already done and am constantly doing, both through radio broadcasts and through management, PR, promotion and support for the Montenegrin urban and independent scene. In parallel with the SOULx3000 project (which is more based on pop, soul and electronic sound) I am also developing Vibin Wit DJ Mono, which is more based on hard-core hip-hop rap sound. This is the first in a series of singles that we have prepared for this year, as guests we have various vocalists, so this will be an exciting year as far as Beats per Montenegro publishing is concerned", promises DJ Mono.
