The homes of Sean Combs, a musician better known by the pseudonym Diddy, in Los Angeles and Miami were searched today by HSI (Homeland Security Investigations) officers in connection with a federal human trafficking investigation, the Associated Press reports.
It is unclear whether Diddy was present during the search as police and helicopters surrounded his residences. The famous producer and rapper is currently facing multiple charges of rape or sexual assault.
"We will provide additional information when it becomes available," said the HSI spokesperson.
In November, R&B and pop singer Cassie accused Diddy, her ex-boyfriend, of rape, sexual assault and human trafficking. Two days later, she reached a deal with the hip-hop mogul, Pitchfork reports.
"I have decided to resolve this matter peacefully under the conditions that I have some level of control over it," Cassie wrote.
Since then, Diddy has been accused of sexual harassment by four more people. The latest is an unnamed woman who filed a lawsuit alleging that Diddy, former Bad Boy Entertainment president Arve Pierre and an unnamed third party "trafficked and gang-raped her" in 2003 when she was 17 and a high school student.
Diddy called the allegations "disgusting" and denied that "any of the horrible things that have been stated" were true.
"I hope this is the beginning of a process that will force Mr. Combs to answer for his deviant behavior," said Douglas Vigdor, the legal representative for Cassie and the unnamed person who also sued Diddy.
Two more women have filed lawsuits against the hip-hop musician, claiming Diddy drugged them, sexually assaulted them and filmed the abuse without their consent.
