A new opera based on Pink Floyd's cult album "Another Brick in the Wall" was successfully performed in Montreal last weekend.
Roger Waters, the main author of the album released in 1979, one of the most important releases of the legendary group, was also at the premiere.
"My experience says that the merging of rock and symphony worlds usually ends in disaster. That's why I sat there and didn't expect it to touch me, but it did," admitted the famous musician.
The opera was performed by the Orchester Metropolitain under the baton of Alan Trudella. The piece is called "Another Brick in the Wall: The Opera."
Although the audience gave the performance a standing ovation, the critics were not completely bought.
"It's awkward if the only song alive is 'We'll Meet Again' by Vera Lynn," wrote one.
