Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli died on Friday at the age of 83, Italian media reported.
The Italian news agency ANSA reports that the designer died at home in Florence, the city where he was born, after a long illness.
He gained popularity in the 1970s, working for stars such as Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot, and decades later his style was respected by generations of celebrities, from Kim Kardashian to Jennifer Lopez, reports N1.
Born on November 15, 1940 in Florence, Italy's main center for leather processing, Cavali was known for his use of printed leather and jeans.
