By the end of August, Plav will receive a reconstructed intersection worth 300 euros, said the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, during a working visit to that municipality.
This is an intersection located at the entrance to the city, which will significantly ease traffic, the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs announced.
"I expect the works to be completed by the end of August this year. What is important to note is that the implementation of this project will improve traffic safety. We are committed to the development of road infrastructure throughout the country," said Radulović.
During the tour of the construction site, he met with the President of Plav Municipality, Nihad Canović, with whom he discussed investment plans in road infrastructure, when it comes to that northern municipality.
"The development of the main project for the reconstruction of the 10-kilometer section of the Plav-Bogićevica road is underway. A public invitation was issued for the improvement of traffic safety at 20 intersections of state roads throughout the country - one of them is the intersection for Murino. After drawing up the project documentation, the Traffic Administration will launch a public call for the selection of contractors and begin work on all intersections. It is expected to happen this year, Radulović pointed out.
Canović said that the realization of that project will solve one of the big problems in that municipality.
"This intersection burdened the traffic at the entrance to Plav and traffic accidents often occurred. After the works are completed, we will have a roundabout, which I believe will improve the safety of road users. At the meeting with the minister, I introduced him to the other projects in Plav, especially emphasizing the importance of building the Plav - Bogićevica road," said Canović.
Radulović announced the imminent start of work on the rehabilitation of the "Jabuka" landslide on the Murino-Bjeluha regional road.
