The first cargo ship of the Chinese car manufacturer BYD today unloaded the first 3.000 electric vehicles of that company in the German port of Bremerhafen, which began the company's offensive to conquer the European market - AFP reported.
Those electric cars will be delivered to several European countries.
The cheapest models from the first round should cost only 9.300 euros.
In Europe, an average price of slightly above 10.000 euros is expected and depends on the market policy of importers in individual countries.
Competitors consider the price of those models unacceptably low because BYD has extensive government subsidies in China.
BYD - the Chinese giant for the production of electric cars by sales in the world overtook the American "Tesla" in the last quarter of 2023.
BYD has ordered a total of eight ships to transport cars from China, especially to Europe, according to the German press.
BYD (which stands for Build Your Dreams) is the world's leading manufacturer of electric cars.
The group stopped producing cars with internal combustion engines in 2022 to focus on hybrid and electric models.
