The Europe Now Movement (PES) welcomed the action of the Social State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) in which former high-ranking police official Zoran Lazović and former chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnić were arrested this morning.
The PES announcement states that this action "continues the fight against organized crime and corruption, as well as the prosecution of all individuals for abuse of official position."
"The actions carried out by the independent prosecutor's office are a strong message that the rule of law is no longer a dead letter on paper, but a reality that we have been waiting for a long time. That is why it is very important that the conditions are met for the implementation of the conclusion of the current government, which gave the building of the old government building to the use of the Special to the state prosecutor's office. The obligation of every executive authority that aims to affirm and support the effective fight against organized crime and corruption is also to improve the working conditions, and the distribution of justice will be in the hands of the competent prosecutorial authorities," PES announced.
They point out that the rule of law, the improvement of living standards and the accelerated European path are unstoppable processes to the satisfaction of a large number of Montenegrin citizens.
