Prime Minister Milojko Spajić said that he welcomes the continuous fight of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SST) against all forms of crime and corruption.
Former high-ranking police officer Zoran Lazović and former chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnić were arrested this morning by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SST).
"These actions bear witness to the degree of infiltration of organized crime into the institutions of the system, which were created during the time of the former authorities. That is why it is very important that the current government, through the creation of legal and practical conditions, makes a clear discontinuity from the former practice and essentially makes our country European - that is, free from the scourge of crime and corruption that has followed us for decades," Spajić wrote on the X network.
They add that each branch of government must do its job with the motive of achieving a common goal through effective cooperation.
"Thesis - for the professional and highly responsible work of the SDT - the Government and competent administrations will continue to provide adequate support, in order for the rule of law to be applied efficiently and to the full extent".
