NSD: We welcome the arrest of Lazović and Katnić, it was expected earlier

The New Serbian Democracy (NSD) welcomed the action of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) and the Special Police Department (SPO) in which former high-ranking police official Zoran Lazović and former chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnić were arrested.

The party announced that they "expected their arrest earlier."

"Our party and the former Democratic Front were the victims and the biggest fighters against the political persecution carried out by the duo Katnić-Lazović, and we are convinced that during the investigation and the further process it will be confirmed that the leaders of that persecution were the leaders of the former regime and that justice to knock on their door as well. As people who have been fighting for justice for years, today's action serves as proof of the correctness of our idea and the importance of electing new people in the prosecution organization," said NSD spokesman Mirko Miličić.

He added that today's prosecutor's office, which recently received a new VDT, will work exclusively according to the letter of the law.

"We expect that, in a maximally transparent process, they will prove what the Katnić - Lazović duo and their mentors did. Nobody wants to be given a gram of responsibility more than they already had, but also for any violation of the law and abuse forget and keep quiet. The time of staged and fabricated processes is in the past, the new Montenegro deserves to see truth and justice in action," Miličić said.
