The Socialist People's Party (SNP) welcomed the arrest of former high-ranking police official Zoran Lazović and former chief special prosecutor Milivoj Katnić.
The SNP stated that the arrest of Katnić and Lazović shows that no individual can be untouchable before the law, "especially those who abused important state and institutional functions".
"The time has passed when organized crime and corruption went unpunished, and we hope that this is one of the many necessary steps towards shedding light on the crimes of the past and achieving the long-awaited justice for our citizens. We expect that this process will also lead to the prosecution and punishment of the perpetrators of crimes against Pavle Bulatović and Duško Jovanović, as well as all other wrongdoings committed by criminal groups in connection with the former regime," the SNP announced.
They add that they give full support to the Special State Prosecutor's Office and the Special Police Department, with the expectation that they will continue to deliver results in the fight against organized crime and corruption.
