Today in the High Court in Podgorica, where the trial of the defendants for the murder of Šćepan Roganović continued, the witness Tomislav Tomašević stated that he saw the face of the person who shot from the side.

In this case, two court proceedings were merged, the indictment included the defendants Igor Vukotić, Mili Bajramović, Krsto Vujić, Marko Radović, Igor Glavaš, Miloš Komar, Slavko Radulović, Miloš Gvozdenović and Dino Ibrahimović. Vukotić, Bajramović and Vujić are being tried in absentia, because they are on the run.

Tomašević said that the killer shot persistently and that after the first shot he approached Roganović to within four or five meters.

"That day, before Šćepan Roganović was killed, I met his mother. We sat down to drink coffee in a cafe owned by the Roganović family. When we drank coffee, I started up the stairs of 'Sima Matavulja'. I heard someone running, in an instant I heard a shot, I was petrified... I saw the face of the person who shot from the side. He had a beard, a cap, glasses, jeans. He first shot three times," said witness Tomašević.

He said that there was a canal at the place where the shooting took place and that Šćepan Roganović jumped into that canal.

"The killer kept shooting. When he came close to the canal, the deceased Šćepan jumped out of the canal and the killer approached him then only four or five meters away. He shot and that's when Šćepan fell", said an eyewitness to the event. He added that he then just passed by Roganović and did not shoot additionally.

Tomašević said that he is ready to go to the scene to reconstruct the event. He explained that after the murder, he avoided that road for a month, only to then start passing by it again and stop and remember everything.

"I saw the killer from the side at the moment of the shooting. He had a beard, glasses and a cap, blue jeans. When he was running away, I saw him from behind. He is of medium height, looks built, one meter and seventy in height. I saw that face when the shooting started. I was about ten to 12 meters away from him," the witness repeated in response to the questions.

Witness Dragan Vasiljević said that he saw little, because he was far away at the top of the stairs. As he explained, the passage, where the murder took place, has about 150 steps.

"I wouldn't swear if I heard three or four shots. When I turned around, I saw a man, he was passing us, running, carrying a gun in his outstretched hand. It was so fast, everything happened in about fifteen seconds. When I went down the stairs after that, I saw that it was Šćepan Roganović," said Vasiljević.

He told the court that he cannot remember every detail because he is over 70 years old, and that the murder happened four years ago.

"To me, it looked like he was about 40 years old. I saw he had a gun in his hand, I think he was wearing black jeans. "That person just ran up the stairs next to us, and there were city green/communal service workers nearby, no one was with him and he went to the highway," said witness Vasiljević.

Lawyer Maja Turković, representative of the injured Roganović family, said that she believes that the heard witnesses did not deviate in any significant way from their statements given before the SDT.

"However, the situation in the courtroom was such that the court allowed the defense to exhaust the witnesses by asking the same questions that have already been answered. This witness hearing is classic exhaustion. I point out that the witnesses tried in every way to explain that they could not answer some questions with precision. Four years have passed since the event. Despite this, the court sought to allow the same questions to be asked. The witnesses are confused in an illegal way," said lawyer Maja Turković.

She emphasized that the late Roganović was engaged in catering.

"I would like to point out that the late Šćepan Roganović worked in catering and construction. "He was not marked as a member of a criminal organization in any police records," said Turković.

Previously, the special state prosecutor's office, along with the indictment from September last year, proposed to join these criminal proceedings, which the court accepted.

The defense pointed to differences in witness statements

The defense of the defendants pointed out to the court the differences in the testimonies of the witnesses. They stated that the witnesses said that they did not remember whether they read the statement they gave to the prosecutor and that they did not know who was interrogating them, but only that it was a male person and that they did not notice that there was a television set in the interrogation rooms.

They pointed out that the court should pay special attention to the circumstances under which former Chief Special State Prosecutor Milivoje Katnić and Special State Prosecutor Saša Čađenović were arrested.

Lawyer Ognjen Radić emphasized after the testimony of the witnesses that the physical description of the person they said shot Roganović did not match the accused Milij Bajramović.
