The police in Budva arrested AV (27) from Beran and ZM (47) from Budva after they were informed that a physical conflict took place at the bus station yesterday around 10:00 am, the Police Administration (UP) announced.
"In the premises of Budva Emergency Medical Service, the police officers found AV from Beran, with an injury in the stomach area, inflicted by a firearm, and he was transported to the General Hospital in Kotor. Through efficient work and quick reaction, the police officers identified the second person who participated in this conflict, namely ZM from Budva, whom the police suspected of causing AV injuries with the use of firearms," the announcement reads.
The UP clarified that the police in Budva collected information from AV and ZM, as well as from, as they say, eyewitnesses to the event.
"They found and determined that the weapon that was used was a gun that uses rubber bullets, and informed the acting prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica about everything, after which the case was brought to the attention of the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor," they added.
The basic state prosecutor, as stated by the UP, stated that the actions of the ZM contain the elements of the criminal offense of causing general danger.
"The prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of the event, who ordered further measures and actions to be taken in order to determine all the circumstances and facts of the event in question," added the UP.
They clarified that the prosecutor in the Higher State Prosecutor's Office stated that AV's actions also contain elements of a criminal offense whose prosecution is undertaken ex officio, namely, the criminal offense of violent behavior to the detriment of ZM "since the police came to know that AV together with JR from Beran physically attacked ZM in front of a restaurant in Budva the previous evening. AV has been detained, while the police are looking for JR."
