Bosniak Party MP Suljo Mustafić submitted amendments to the proposal of the Law on the Budget for 2023, which request 4,1 million euros in the Budget for 2023 for the reconstruction of the regional road Bar - Kamenički most - Krute.

In addition, the amendment requests one million euros for the reconstruction of the regional road Bar - Sutorman - Virpazar.

"The Budget proposal established by the Government of Montenegro for the road Bar-Kamenički most-Krute provides only one million and fifty thousand euros, while no funds are provided for the road Bar-Sutorman Virpazar", the statement of the Bosniak party points out.

Mustafić said that the regional road R-29 Bar - Kamenički most - Krute is an extremely important route that connects Montenegro and Albania, and that no serious funds have been invested in reconstruction or rehabilitation for decades.

"The road is the lifeblood of Bar and Mrkojević and more than 500 vehicles and over 2 million passengers pass through it every year. It is a multi-decade problem faced by the residents of Mrkojević who travel to Bar every day for their needs, as well as hundreds of thousands of tourists who they use this route during the tourist season, as well as in other parts of the year," Mustafić said.

He adds that in 2019 the Government recategorized the road as a regional road, but that due to the importance and volume of traffic and the fact that it connects two countries, it is still an international road.

"Since the funds that were foreseen in 2022 for this purpose were not realized, I believe that significantly larger funds should be provided for this year compared to the budget proposal for 2023," Mustafić pointed out.

He believes that this should be done, "in such a way that the funds provided for the two budget years (2023 and 2024), in the total amount of 4,1 million euros, would be collected and used in 2023".

As he says, this is a project that is at least two decades late.

"Traffic flow, frequency of vehicles and passengers, as well as the needs of thousands of residents of this area - Mrkojević, Dobra voda, Pečurica, Kruta, Vladimir and Sukobin and hundreds of thousands of tourists, are of enormous importance for the functioning and development of this part of the Montenegrin coast, which requires the urgent realization of this capital project", says Mustafić.

He adds that the Budget submitted by the Government does not provide funds for the reconstruction of the road route Virpazar - Sutorman - Bar, so he proposes to allocate a million euros from the budget reserve for this purpose for the year 2023.

Mustafić explained that it is about the road direction, "R-28, Bar – Sutorman – Virpazar, which was recategorized as a regional road by the decision of the Government of Montenegro in 2019".

He adds that the road route is of special importance for the municipality of Bar, "because it is a road that connects Bar, the settlements of Sustaš, Tuđemili, Sutorman, and almost the entire Crmnica with Virpazar as the local center".

Also, it is a route that in the summer months and during the tourist season "represents the only alternative route from Bar to Podgorica. Bearing in mind the exceptional transit that takes place on this road, the agricultural and tourist resources of this part of the municipality, as well as the large number of residents who this the road is the only connection with Bar and Podgorica, I believe that urgent reconstruction and rehabilitation is needed," concludes Mustafić.

He emphasizes that the route is in a very bad condition, so it poses a danger to the normal flow of traffic.

"The aforementioned funds would be used for part of the route, and funds should be projected for other sections in the following years, which means that the reconstruction and rehabilitation of this road route would take place in phases," the announcement concludes.
