The Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism (MEPG) has allocated 1.300.000 euros for local ecological projects through the Eco Fund, and I invite municipalities to apply and use the funds, said Minister Ana Novaković Đurović.
"The Eco Fund has published a series of public tenders in order to support environmental projects and initiatives, especially those in the field of waste management," she stated.
As the municipal level has an extremely important role in preserving our environment, and often ideas on how to improve the state of the environment, said Đurović, I invite all local governments to actively participate and apply for these competitions, to use financial support for remediation of wild landfills , arrangement of green areas, procurement of equipment and devices for waste management, in order, she added, to achieve their environmental goals and contribute to the betterment of the local community.
"It is extremely important that the funds are invested in the right way and that we have sustainable results. The intention is to solve the issue of waste management as well as other environmental issues through more effective cooperation at the state and local levels," the announcement states.
In this direction, as she said, in addition to public tenders, the municipalities have the possibility to submit mature projects to the Eco-Fund and to reach their realization with direct contracting.
"We encourage the municipalities to use the funds and we expect good results of the competition," the announcement states.
