The Municipal Committee of the Democratic Socialist Party (DPS) Budva called on the authorities to investigate the actions of those responsible in the Municipality of Budva regarding the construction of a wastewater treatment plant.
"The municipal board of DPS Budva points out the fact that in connection with the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, abuse of official position was established and damages were caused to the Municipality of Budva in the amount of three million euros. These facts are derived from court decisions and we support the efforts of state authorities to damages to compensate the Municipality. Also, in the same decisions, it was stated that the German company carried out works with an invoiced value of slightly over 41 million euros, in which amount the damage of three million was also stated. It is important to note that the entire contract, which was contested by the activities of the prosecution, foresees a complete equipping the municipality of Budva with facilities and a network for the purification and removal of waste water for the amount of 66 million euros," the announcement states.
In this amount, as they add from the DPS, it is planned to connect Pržno and Sveti Stefan to the plant in Vještica, as well as the construction of another waste water treatment plant for settlements from Režević to Buljarica.
"Instead of a responsible approach, which would entail charging the established damage and bringing the project to an end in a new, responsible way, the leaders of the Municipality have resorted to pure populism, which will result in the biggest, so far seen, damage to the Municipality of Budva, which will lead the city to a hopeless situation with a blockade of 40 million euros in the near future. We remind you that the leaders of the Municipality paid certain amounts to the WTE company. We remind you that huge funds were allocated for consultants who provided a very modest elaboration of the work, several law firms were hired that sucked millions of euros from the budget of Budva".

From the DPS they also state that in the announcement of the Municipality of Budva it can be seen "that they were not able to choose the proposed arbitrator that the party to the proceedings (in this case the Municipality of Budva) proposes".
"The result of these activities is disastrous for the Municipality of Budva, and we are sure that it is the result of ignorance and conscious involvement in populist stories, but definitely also of conceited individuals, because this much damage would not have been possible without conscious actions. Therefore, we demand that the competent authorities investigate the actions of the responsible persons in the Municipality of Budva, due to whose political caprice, damage to the Municipality of three million euros was determined, with the obligation of the Municipality of Budva to pay a total of 38 million euros. The citizens of Budva, their populism, ignorance and bad intentions, will cost an incredible more than 90 million euros, our fellow citizens who live from Kamenovo to Buljarica will not have an adequate service of the wastewater treatment plant," concludes the announcement of the Budva DPS.
