Member of the Citizens' Movement (GP) URA Ana Novaković Đurović, during the debate on the proposal for the Law on Waste Management at today's parliamentary session, pointed out that it is extremely important for Montenegro to get this Law as soon as possible, because it is one of the most important regulations for achieving the standards of an ecological state , it was announced from that party.
As stated in the announcement, Novaković Đurović said that the 43rd Government adopted the Draft Law on Waste Management and forwarded it to the Parliament of Montenegro in October 2023, and that in relation to that decision, the 44th Government did not make any changes.
"We lost half a year for implementation, and that practically means that the Law was adopted when it was proposed by the Government of Dritan Abazović, so that today Montenegro would have a ban on the use of light plastic bags," said Novaković Đurović.
She announced that in addition to the provisions related to plastic, the importance of introducing greater control and inspection supervision at the state level should be emphasized.
She added that the introduction of extended producer responsibility is also extremely important, which means that, as she states, importers and producers in Montenegro have the entire financial and organizational responsibility for disposing of products that become waste.
"The URA civil movement will support this draft law, because for us, an ecological Montenegro is an absolute priority," concluded Novaković Đurović.
