The airports of Montenegro announced that the roof at Tivat Airport has been repaired, and that they are planning to open Terminal 2 in May.
"Tivat Airport used the winter season to rehabilitate the roof of Terminal 1 and improve the air conditioning system so that, as we expect, the condition during the summer season will be much better than before," the statement said.
"After several years of problems and attempts at rehabilitation, the roof was fixed. The renovation of the interior of the terminal will follow. We also serviced the existing air conditioning system. In addition, we installed new units. In this way, we believe, we provided passengers and employees with a more pleasant environment for their stay in the terminal," said Tivat Airport Director Vladimir Praščević.
The announcement states that, considering that the summer season in aviation started on March 31, and that new routes are already being opened, Tivat Airport has a sufficient number of seasonal workers, "which enables safe and secure operations".
"For the period up to the peak season, we have a sufficient number of employees. However, from June to September, we have recorded an announcement of an increase in traffic compared to last year, which is why we will need an additional number of executors. A new ad will be published soon and we invite all those interested to apply," announced Praščević.
As announced, Tivat Airport will expand its capacity by opening the doors of Terminal 2, which is used only for departures. In this way, they point out, Terminal 1 will be relieved and crowds will be reduced.
"We plan to open Terminal 2 in May. Among other things, this is also why we will need an additional number of seasonal workers," he explained.
Praščević emphasized that the airport also needs the logistics of other services, including the Border Police Sector.
"I hope that my colleagues will be able to overcome the lack of executors so that we can open Terminal 2 in the announced period during May," he said.
Praščević added that in the previous period Tivat Airport also provided some new equipment that will contribute to the improvement of the services provided to airlines.
