Despite the fact that they live in the city with the title of the largest construction site in Montenegro, judging by the data of the Employment Agency (ZZZ), the residents of Kolasin have not yet felt the benefits in the field of employment.
The number of unemployed on the records of the Labor Bureau at the end of last year was 795, so compared to 2022, it decreased by only 8,7 percent. The decrease in the number of unemployed at the state level in the same period was significantly higher (14,3 percent). According to the information provided by ZZZ to the local parliament, the average unemployment rate in Kolašin is more than double the Montenegrin average and amounts to 33,8 percent.
In the qualification structure of the total number of unemployed, the dominant participation is held by those with III, IV and V levels of educational qualifications (52,7 percent). Among the men and women of Kolasin who are looking for a job, about 10 percent are university graduates.
According to Information, 76 people with disabilities were waiting for work last December, which is five fewer than in the same period of the previous year.
"In 2023, employers reported 284 vacancies to the Labor Bureau, which compared to the same period of the previous year (339), represents a decrease of 16,2 percent. In the same period, the number of reported vacancies in Montenegro increased by 5,5 percent," the document submitted to the Municipal Assembly (SO) reads.
Last year, Kolašin employers expressed the greatest need for secondary school occupations (114 registered vacancies), followed by higher education graduates (95), while there were 75 vacancies for occupations of the first and second level of education.
