The workers of EPCG-Željezara Nikšić gathered today in front of the Elektroprivreda building as a sign of protest that they still haven't received their March salary.

The executive director of that company, Nevenka Janković, appeared before the workers and told them that they will receive their March salary on Monday. They parted ways after that.

"We are staying here until they pay us the March salary and tell us the exact date of the April salary payment. We could not even get information about this from the executive director who, it seems, was brought in with only one goal - to put the factory into bankruptcy, which we will not allow." , the president of the factory union, Ivan Vujović, said earlier.

As he pointed out, they did not fight for the factory and jobs so that now they would do nothing.

"The new management is not doing anything, plants are closing, they are refusing jobs, so we wonder what the management's role is - to find a job or to close the factory," categorical Vujović.

Previously, Elektroprivreda unofficially told the news that they are trying to secure the salary as soon as possible, but that they cannot bid on dates.

Vujović claims that not a single plant is working in Željezara, that they have neither tools nor materials, and management, as well as EPCG, are to blame for everything.

"All procurement goes through Elektroprivreda, and nothing is procured. Then they tell us how to pay our wages, when we don't work. Well, it's not our fault that we don't work, it's theirs. We want to work, but they don't pay us," he said. is Vujović.

The executive director of Željezara Nevenka Janković told Vijesti earlier today that she does not want to comment on Vujović's allegations or the workers' protest. She recalled that on the day she was chosen to manage Željezara, she said that she would talk about the state of the company only when she brought it to a state of profitability.

As she told Vijesti, she sincerely hopes that it will happen soon and that she will be available for all questions from journalists.

There was a delay in the implementation of business processes

The Department for Corporate Communications of Elektroprivreda announced that this institution signed a contract on business and technical cooperation with the company EPCG-Željezara-Nikšić.

"In order for Elektroprivreda Montenegro to fulfill its obligations based on the aforementioned contract, it is first necessary for EPCG-Željezara-Nikšić to implement certain business activities," the announcement reads.

According to them, there was a delay in the implementation of those business processes.

"We hope that the current situation will be overcome and that we will start implementing them very quickly, so that in the end EPCG-Željezara-Nikšić will be able to pay its employees their March wages", they added.

They assessed that until now EPCG provided significant financial assistance to the company EPCG-Željezara-Nikšić, "through various financial arrangements, and that the auditor engaged by the Electric Power Company of Montenegro and the competent institution will have the final word on the further direction and distribution of those financial resources.
