The president of the municipality of Ulcinj, Nazif Cungu, is dissatisfied with the work of certain secretariats, which are run by the cadres of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), which is why the political crisis is shaking the ruling coalition in that city. Several interlocutors of "Vijesti" from the Municipality said that Cungu does not hide his dissatisfaction with the work of the services, while other parties accuse him of "not running the city as it should".

While Cungu claims that there are no problems in the city administration, it is an open secret that councilor and high-ranking DPS official Borislav Bašović has not been attending local parliament sessions for a long time because the executive refuses to provide him with written answers to councilor questions. While Bašović refuses to comment on non-attendance at meetings, his party boss in Ulcinj, Ljoro Nrekić, denies that Cungu asked for the dismissal of the secretary for finance and property representation, Sead Osmanović and Pjeter Ljuljđuraj, who come from the ranks of the DPS.

“I don't know about that. There is nervousness, but I believe it is fleeting", said Nrekić to "Vijesta".

The ruling coalition will hold a meeting tonight, where the results so far on the local scene will be summarized. Although there are disagreements, it is difficult to expect major upheavals, due to the fact that Cungu's Force and the Democratic Union of Albanians (DUA) are part of the ruling coalition at the state level.

Apart from the nine councilors of the DPS, the ruling majority in Ulcinj consists of eight representatives of the Force, seven members of Fatmir Đeka's coalition and three councilors of the DUA. This majority was agreed in March by Prime Minister Duško Marković, who was the Deputy Prime Minister at the time, reconciling Cungu and Đeka, who had previously caused a crisis in the old government in which there was no DPS. The two have not improved their relations even today.

The head of the communal police, Saubih Mehmeti, who is a member of Đeka's coalition, claims that Cungu did not put direct pressure on him due to possible omissions in his work.

"He never told me about it, but indirectly, through other people and my associates. He asked us for some information and data that our department does not deal with. I'm not afraid of being replaced, on the contrary, I expected it at the very beginning because I didn't publicly support the coalition," Mehmeti told "Vijesta", stating that he was elected police chief through a public competition for four years.

"That's not a problem either. If I am in the way or if there is a better solution, I am here to help the president. But what must be known is that the municipal police cannot fully act according to their powers, because decisions and conclusions from the local parliament are missing. It means that someone else is not doing their job", emphasized Mehmeti.

Bardhi asks how much money is due to him for being in government

The leader of the Democratic Alliance, Mehmet Bardhi, believes that many things are not right in the Ulcinj government.

"Cungu must meet with allies and resolve all disputed issues," said Bardhi, emphasizing that Cungu acts selectively when it comes to severance payments to former workers in order to exercise their right to a pension. "As a member of the ruling coalition, I haven't received an answer for months about how much money belongs to my party based on participation in the local government," said Bardhi.
