The president of the board of the Democratic Party of Socialists in Cetinje, Miloš Ražnatović, confirmed to "Vijesta" that he resigned from that position, because it is an obligation in accordance with the DPS statute.
"It is true that the Executive Board and the Municipal Board were unanimously against me resigning," Ražnatović said.
Ražnatović was the holder of the DPS list in the local elections in Prijestonica last December.
DPS then won 14 mandates, SDP eight, URA four, the Democrats and the Old Guard LSCG three each, and the Social Democrats and the Liberal Party one mandate.
Although DPS is the strongest party individually, it lacks three mandates to exercise power, because the local parliament has 33 council seats.
